More than 30 years of practical experience in business analysis and project management in manufacturing, banking, pharmaceuticals, insurance, defence, shipbuilding and airlines whilst working for organization such as Plessey, IBM, EDS and Honeywell and also as an independent consultant.

Honeywell: Devise & lead a pan European re-engineering project to reduce IT costs by $21M.
Plessey: Systems engineering manager for sub-systems integration of UK Air-Defence system.
European Commission: Rapporteur for IT project evaluation
US Multinational: Re-engineered a fragmented national customer support into a global data driven web service
Fact based modeling
Taught Fact Based Modeling (ORM) to companies in Belgium and Switzerland.
Established fact based modeling (ORM) as a development practice of a large application development team
Set-up the ORM Foundation website.
Co-authored fact based modeling (ORM) book with Terry Halpin
Member of Program committee for ORM Workshops (2005-2011)
MSc Dissertation showed that fact based modeling (ORM) is at least 25% more cost-effective than UML and ER.
Process modeling
Learned process modeling in 1958 at the RAF Radar Engineering school.
Led process modeling teams in Air Defence and International banking.

* International bank: Process models covering financial systems integration across 11 countries.

Taught telecoms & management systems at IBM's Telecommunications Systems European Institute
MSc in Information Systems Management – University of Liverpool:
Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the University of Lincoln.
Currently conducting research into "management systems" for PhD.

Published a number of papers & presented several TV broadcasts on IT topics.
Standards
Secretary of the Business and Information Modeling groups of UN/EDIFACT and ANSI. Spent 3 years promoting the use of fact based modeling for EDI message development in Europe and the USA.(1993-1995)
